Basic overview of the INCOTERMS rules 2010


All modes of transport

EXW – Ex Works

Vehicle/s are placed at the disposal of the buyer at the SAL premises or at another named place (warehouse, factory, etc). SAL has no obligation to load the vehicle/s on any collecting means of transport.

 

FCA – Free Carrier

SAL delivers the vehicles/s to the carrier or another person nominated by the buyer at SAL premises or another named place.

 

FOB – Free On Board

Vehicle/s cost and all costs up to delivery over the ships rail at the named port of shipment. sea or inland waterways transport only.

 

FAS – Free Alongside Ship

SAL delivers the vehicle/s alongside the vessel nominated by the buyer at the named port of shipment.

 

CFR – Cost and Freight

Vehicle/s Cost and Freight Cost, the cost of insurance if any is covered by the buyer.

 

CIF – Cost, Insurance and Freight

Cost of Vehicle/s plus insurance and freight, duty unpaid, to a named port of destination. Sea or inland waterways transport only.

 

CPT – Carriage Paid To

As for CIP, except the cost of insurance is carried by the buyer.

 

CIP – Carriage and Insurance Paid To

Costs of carriage and insurance of the Vehicle/s and duty unpaid, to the named destination.

 

DAT – Delivered At Terminal

Delivery takes place when the Vehicle/s are placed at the disposal of the buyer once unloaded from the arriving means of transport at a named terminal at the named port of place of destination. SAL bears all the risks of loss or damage to the Vehicle/s until they have been delivered in accordance with the agreed delivery place. Applies to all modes of transport.

 

DAP – Delivered At Place

Delivery takes place when the Vehicle/s are placed at the disposal of the buyer on the arriving means of transport at a named place of destination. SAL bears all the risks of loss or damage to the Vehicle/s until they have been delivered in accordance with agreed delivery place. Applies to all modes of transport.

 

DDP – Delivery Duty Paid

Delivery takes place when the Vehicle/s are placed at the disposal of the buyer, cleared for import, on the arriving means of transport at a named place of destination. SAL bears all the risks of loss or damage to the Vehicle/s until they have been delivered in accordance with the agreed delivery palce. Applies to all modes of transport.
